Suprematism was a movement in Russian Art in the early 20th century that emphasized non objective art. Placement of geometric shapes and lines to give the visual appearance of sounds and movement.

Majority of the time vibrating colors are meant as an optical illusion. Vibrating colors is a tool that artist’s use to create a movement within art to give an illusion of movement by using two colors that makes the eye move around the image quickly almost vibrating the eye.

Legato is a method that artist use to create a flowing rhythmic pattern across the image.

Proportion

Proportion is the comparing of an object to another object that mentally a viewer already knows the size of. As we know how big a baseball is so it is easy to assume most oranges are roughly the same size as a baseball.

Surrealism is creating artworks containing real life objects , however, composed in an unrealistic manner.

Enigmatic Proportion is the artist use of creating false proportions as the viewer is already familiar to.

Emphasis by Placement is as easy as placing the image as to where it immediately draws attention. This rotating TV is placed in the center of the photo for emphasis.

Unity is the agreement of all aspect of an artwork to work together to create the masterpiece as a whole. This is a key element in creating a great piece of art.

Proximity

Proximity is easily achieved by placing two non-related objects close together to make them seem as though they supposed to be together.

Primary Colors

Primary colors come in two forms: Additive Color Systems and Subtractive Color Systems.

· Additive color systemsprimary colors consist of Red, Green, and Blue. This is produced by the overlapping of the primary colors produced by light. When all three primaries combine, you create white light.

· Subtractive Color Systems primary colors consist of Red, Yellow, and Blue orCyan, magenta, and Yellow. The color wheel as most people know it. This is created by the way light reflects the color we see, and absorbs the remaining colors.

A Hue in simplest terms is a name that classifies a color. I.e. Blue, Green, or even Blue-Green.

Warm / Cool Color

· Warm colors are: Red, Red-Orange, Orange, Yellow-Orange and yellow. They are known as warm because they resemble things in real life such as: Red=fire , Orange and Yellow=The Sun. The viewer relates to the warm feeling.

· Cool Colors are: Violet, Blue-Violet, Blue, Blue-Green and Green. These are called cool because they resemble real life aspects such as: Blue=water/ice/snow , Violet= cold of night. The viewer relates to a cooler feeling.

 

Value

Value is a very important tool to use in artworks. Value refers to the lightness or darkness of the image.
