Overlapping
is one technique used in order to give the illusion of space on a two
dimensional artwork. By partially covering one object with another creates an
illusion as the objects would appear to be three dimensionally.

Perspective is where the background appears to
fade away due to atmospheric particles the further back you look.

is an example of Two Point Perspective, which is where the artist uses
